David and Janet welcome you!

Entrance to One of Northern Thailand's Oldest Wats
A huge old Bo tree being held up by hundreds of poles, each added to make merit
So who is he, we wondered?

One of the oldest yet well-preserved temples in Thailand is a few kilometers outside of Lampang.  We enjoyed seeing its various buildings, including one that does NOT allow women inside (see photo of David up there) that includes a "camera obscura" showing the image of a nearby chedi upside down on a dirty sheet hanging in there.  (Maybe that's why they don't let women in.)  The old "bo" tree is being held up by hundreds of poles, each donated by a person making merit by doing so.  After the temple closed we rode on a pony cart around the nearby residential neighborhood, with its dozens of great old wooden houses.  The "clop, clop" sound of the pony was a special treat for both of us.
