We have arrived at Mae Fah Luang University, located in a rural area about 8 miles north of the town of Chiang Rai.  The campus is gorgeous.  We are living in a nice small bungalow with 2 bedrooms and a deck overlooking some beautiful hills. Weather is fine, warm in the days and so cool at night we don't need air conditioning. We have rented a car and are getting around on our own.

Logistics of settling in have been complicated, dealing both with university rules and the Thai government bureaucracy.  We are feeling our way through the process step-by-step.

David's first class is Monday, Oct. 29.  Today we visited a national artist wood carver's workshop nearby and spent some time with friends.  Tomorrow more exploring around Chiang Rai town.
