We had a great (if brief) visit to the Sheraton Krabi Hotel on the Andaman Sea after two days of bird watching with a guide further to the north, primarily in Phang Nga province. At this lovely beachside hotel we had the special opportunity to fall in love with "Ra-Ra," their five-year-old baby elephant. Her trainer ("mahout") was very nice to both of us. he has been with RaRa full time since she was borh five years ago. Both of them come from Surin, in Northeast Thailand near the Cambodian border. As one can see from the photos, she is a loving and lovely animal.
