We stayed at a fabulous hotel in Yangon, the Governors Residence. It's a teak mansion from the 1920s used then as a guesthouse for important visitors from the Kayah ethnic group. Now after a masterful renovation, it's a tourist's ideal of colonial luxury. The location is quiet and peaceful with trees everywhere nearby.
