David and Janet welcome you!

Words simply don't do it justice....
Here we ARE at the Taj Mahal...
Indian families were everywhere, the colors of their beautiful saris contrasting with the white marble of the building
The Taj Mahal "lawn mower" at work
The Taj is indeed incredible, more beautiful and moving by far than can be captured by photos .... either ours, or even a professional photographer's.  It does have to be seen to be believed.

We saw it in different shades of light and dark, from different angles, with and without reflections in the reflecting pond.  All in all, a wonderful experience.

Outside are dozens of "touts" selling all kinds of junk, very aggressively.  Not a pleasant way to approach such a monument.

The India government, worried about the effects of air pollution on this gorgeous marble structure, has banned all gasoline and diesel engines within 600 meters of it.  So the grass is cut with an ox cart.  But unfortunately this little gesture, while cute, has no impact on the fumes from industrial Agra that overwhelm the entire area.
