David and Janet welcome you!

Here are some more photos from our lovely time cruising along the Nile River.
This is a typical village scene along the Nile.
We had armed guards with us everywhere we went in Egypt, some in plain clothes, others in uniforms. All carried automatic weapons, some pistols as well.
Janet with Lake Nasser in the background. It's the largest manmade lake in the world, created by the Aswan High Dam.
Sailboats called "feluccas" were everywhere along the Nile, as they have been for (literally) 5,000 years.
We sailed on a felucca in Aswan; here is our handsome captain.
Across the Nile the desert comes right down to the river's edge. On top of the hill is a 12th century monastery that we reached on camel-back.
